Timber Sales Assistant

Location: Harlow Bros Derby, Coleman Street, Allenton, Derby, Derbyshire, DE24 8NH

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: 44.5 Hours per week to be worked flexibly between 7.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, times to be agreed with line manager, with a 30-minute lunch break and a minimum of 26 Saturday mornings per year from 8am to 12pm, generally worked on alternate weekends.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Timber Sale Assistant to join our team in Harlow Bros Derby. The role is part of a branch-based sales team that work together to process all incoming sales and enquiries over the trade counter, telephone, and email.  You will be able to work proactively, maximising business through a knowledgeable, courteous, and professional approach, and from a learned awareness of our products and services offered.

What you’ll be doing as Timber Sale Assistant:

• Helping to increase Branch sales performance
• Working from the sales office, handling phone and email enquiries.
• Serving customers on the trade counter.
• Contacting customers to promote sales and develop leads
• PI counts and Stock Taking duties

Your Skills:

• Timber and/or builders merchant experience
• Good literate and numerate ability
• Basic I.T. capability
• Timber knowledge
• Merchant experience
