Yard Operative

Location: Harlow Timber Systems Burton, Hawkins Lane, Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE14 1PT.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: 7.30am and 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am and 3:45pm Friday

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Operative to join our team in Burton. As a Yard operative it is your responsibility to ensure all trusses and loose materials are ready and loaded on lorries to meet delivery deadlines in a safe working environment and to follow correct procedures. Incoming deliveries are taken care of and correctly stored. Trusses and other products are safely stored and organised in the yard.

What you’ll be doing as a Yard Operative:

• Assisting with the Loading / unloading vehicles and ensuring that the Product is packed properly for delivery and the Trusses and loose are loaded in a safe manner and suitable for the vehicle and safe for site offload
• Picking orders for saws and rollers to works instruction and checking that the completed orders match the requirements of the pick note.
• Stock Control
• Correctly label packs and packages and ensure that all delivery / collection documentation is correct
• Maintenance checks
• Yard material and packaging of client specific material requirements
• Helping with housekeeping to ensure the Yard is safe and tidy at all times.

Your Skills:

• Timber knowledge and experience is not necessary, but this would be advantageous
• Good communicator
• Hard working
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
• Team player
• Basic Math
• Ability to work under instruction at all times whilst adhering to strict Health & Safety regulation
• Counterbalance license B1 - Sideloaded: C2 if possible
