Timber Yard Assistant

Location: Harlow Bros Leicester, Unit 20, Oswin Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE3 1HR

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: 44.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly between 7.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, times to be agreed with line manager, with a 30-minute lunch break and a minimum of 26 Saturday mornings per year from 8am to 12pm, generally worked on alternate weekends.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Timber Yard Assistant to join our team in Leicester. As a Timber Yard Assistant you will be working as part of a team to maintain a safe, clean, fully functional site, offer a knowledgeable, helpful, and professional service to our customers and to undertake various duties your skill set develops.

What you’ll be doing as Timber Yard Assistant:

• Working externally on the yard along with team.
• Undertake a variety of tasks – customer service through the issuing of goods to customers from sales tickets, order picking, stock management through manual rack filling, cutting and processing of materials, housekeeping and as deemed appropriate, forklift duties as appropriate.
• Good housekeeping of yard and forecourt.
• From time to time, be called upon to drive our Pickup truck to make deliveries to customers in a safe, lawful and professional way.
• To provide a prompt, polite, helpful and professional service to customers in branch and at delivery destinations, always promoting a positive company image

Your Skills:

• Timber knowledge
• Machine capability
• Forklift License
• Driving License
• Good literate and numerate ability
